Middle Eastern condiments seem to be popular amongst Wellington musicians. Following in the footsteps of Hummucide, yet another band has emerged from the aisles of the local Pak’nSave; Tahini Bikini. Listening to their groovy, stripped back tunes, many will be surprised to learn the band are actually a six-piece. Still, we managed to cram the group into a studio where we had a chat about their “salad funk”, whether or not there is a “Kiwi sound’ and what it feels like to be completely naked and covered in Tahini.
